2006 News/Brags

July

After running in PA Shannon drove over to the JRRWA ASFA trial on the 4th. We are extremely proud to report that Winnie won the FCh stake and then went BOB! Bosley was 3rd and Joker was 4th. As if that wasn't enough, Aren placed in Open and at the end of the day he was declared the winner of the 2006 JRRWA Versatility Competition!!!

We sent dogs with Shannon for the big ASFA weekend in PA. On Saturday the 1st Zoom was 2nd in Open and Winnie was NBQ in FCh. Bosley won the FCh stake, way to go! Sunday Zoom won the Open stake which made her a Field Champion!!! Brother Joker was 3rd in FCh.

June

On the 18th a bit further north, Aren won the Open stake, went BOB and then Best in Field to complete his AKC Field Championship! I could not be more proud of Aren, Joanne and Pat!

On the 17th we attended the CLCS AKC trial in Camden SC. In an Open stake of 22, Joker placed 3rd for 2 more points towards his FC, Winnie was 4th and Murphy was 5th. Zoom and Joker also finished their Senior Courser.

At the Skyline KC show on the 10th, Aren was WD/BOW/BOB for his first conformation point! Yay Aren!

May

At the Memorial Weekend ASFA trials in PA, Saturday Zoom was 2nd in Open, while Winnie won the FCh stake and went BOB. Joker was NBQ in FCh. Sunday Bosley won the Open stake to complete his FCh title, sister Zoom was 2nd, and Winnie was 2nd in FCh.

On the 7th at SEGC Joker debuted in the FCh stake and picked up a 2nd, giving him 15 pts towards his LCM. Brother Bosley was again 2nd in the Open stake. Nice job guys!

May started off on the right foot at the SEGC ASFA trial in GA on the 6th. Joker thrilled us by winning the Open stake of 10 and finishing his ASFA Field Championship. He is our 3rd FCh for 2006. He wasn't done though and went Best of Breed, and then Best in Field!!! Go Joker! Dad Murphy debuted in the FCh stake and earned a 4th out of 9, which netted him his first 9 LCM points. We are very proud of the boys!

April

While we stayed home with hormonal girls, Joker and Murphy ran in the SHOT ASFA trials, handled by good friends Shannon and Kassie Lyons. On Saturday despite the horrific weather, Murphy won the Open stake of 12! Son Bosley was 4th and Joker was NBQ. On Sunday Joker turned the tables and won the Open stake of 11, while Murphy finished 4th. Now Murphy can add the title of ASFA Field Champion to his list of accomplishments! Joker only needs 10 points and a 1st or 2nd to finish!

The 15th and 16th in Jacksonville, Winnie ran in the SOMOS NOTRA meets. She finished in the Top 10 both days and on Sunday did us proud by earning 2 ORC points. Go Winnie!

Sunday April 9th at the IWAGS AKC trial, Aren (Kismet's Purple Haze SC OTR CR) won the Open stake of 17 for a 5 pt major! This brings his total to 11 pts. Congrats to owners Joanne Ronning (JayTea) and Pat Taylor (Chesara)!

Saturday April 1st we attended the inaugural SOL WRA meet in Winnsboro SC. Out of 25 adults Dutch placed 5th, Winnie 6th, Joker 7th, Bosley 9th and Zoom 10th. We had a great day, no foolin'!

March

On the 19th good friends Mike and Sue Fitzgerald graciously ran Winnie for me at the SWAG NOTRA meet. There were over 40 adults and she wound up 7th, only 1/2 point out of the ORC points! She also finished her OTRM. Way to go Winnie and THANK YOU Mike and Sue!

The 18th found us in Charlotte at the SWAG WRA meet. There were 40 adult starters, and Dutch thrilled me by ending up 10th and earning 2 WRCh points! Winnie was hot on his heels in 12th, just 1 point out of the points. Zoom was a solid 19th and Joker was 24th.

On the 5th at the MAHA AKC trial, Winnie ran in her first AKC trial. She won the Open stake of 17 for a 5 pt major, then went BOB, and then thrilled us by going Best in Field!!! Bosley won his runoff and ended up 4th.

On the 4th at the MAHA AKC trial, there were 17 Open whippets competing. Joker was 2nd and earned 3 pts towards his FC. Murphy was hot on his heels in 3rd to add 2 more pts to his FC total.

February

On the 25th at the MAHA ASFA trial, Murphy was 1st out of 14 in Open and BOB for 40 pts. His kids did great too, as Joker was 2nd (30 pts), Bosley was 3rd (20 pts) and Zoom was 4th (10 pts). In her first trial as a FCh Winnie earned a 2nd in a stake of 15, giving her 30 pts towards her LCM. We had a great day!

The 18th and 19th Winnie and Zoom went lure coursing with Shannon in Cartersville. Winnie was 1st both days and finished her Field Championship! Zoom was 2nd on Saturday and 4th on Sunday, bringing her to 58 pts and a placement. Bosley was 4th on Saturday and 3rd Sunday, bringing his total to 56 pts and a placement.

January

Shannon took Murphy racing at the SWAG meets the 21st and 22nd. He had a nice weekend and finished his CRX-III. His son Bosley was in the Top 10 of a 40 dog meet on Saturday and finished his CRX-II.

I was able to make it for Sunday the 15th at CLCS and entered four dogs in Open, Winnie (her first lure coursing trial), Zoom, Joker and Murphy. Winnie was 2nd for 30 points towards her Field Championship! The other three were in a five-way tie for 3-4-NBQ. After a coin toss forfeit Zoom ended up 3rd for 20 points and Joker was NBQ. Zoom became the 4th from the Murphy x Daisy "Full" litter to earn ASFA points!

On the 14th at the CLCS ASFA trial, Bosley ended up 2nd in Open for 30 points towards his Field Championship. Shannon Lyons and Mike & Sue Fitzgerald graciously ran Joker for me since I couldn't make it. He was in a three-way tie for 4-NBQ but ended up 6th after the runoff.

We celebrated the New Year in Cartersville with Sabrina finishing 4th in veterans for 5 more points towards her V-FCh, Zoom earning NBQ in one Open flight (only 1 pt behind the tie for 1-4th) and Joker winning 4th in the other Open flight for 10 points towards his FCh. Dad Murphy was hot on Joker's heels for NBQ. We had a great time and definitely plan to return!

2005 News/Brags

December

After we finished running in Camden we swung by and picked up good friend Shannon Lyons and some of the Shannon Down Whippets to head to Cartersville GA for the GANG Winter Challenge ASFA trials. Sabrina was NBQ in veterans and in his first ASFA trial Joker ended up NBQ in one of the Open flights. After the trial was over we drove to the Atlanta airport and picked up our new arrival, Viva. Thanks to Genny Holland of Appaws Whippets for sending us this beautiful little redhead!

On the 30th in Camden SC, Zoom finished her JC and finished in a tie with brother Bosley for 4th/5th in Open out of 23 whippets. We forfeited Zoom so Bosley placed 4th and Zoom was 5th. Murphy finished his SC.

November

On the 26th in FL at the SOMOS NOTRA, Bosley won the meet undefeated and finished his ORC! Bosley is our first homebred ORC and we are very proud! Winnie was second in the meet and earned 1 NORC and 1 ORC.

The 12th and 13th SWAG held back to back WRA meets in Mocksville. We had lots of fun and the kids did very well. Winnie was in the points both days and finished her CRX. Dutch picked up his very first WRCh pts on Sunday, and Bosley added to his WRCh total as well! Joker was "bridesmaid" Sunday but did finish his CRX. Little hard-trying Zoom finished her CR.

October

October 30th at the MARS WRA meet, Winnie picked up 3 WRCh points. (The day before Bosley finished his CRX.) One state over at the CLCS AKC lure coursing trial, Murphy was 3rd out of 21 in the open state and picked up 2 pts towards his AKC Field Championship. It was a great day!

May

Memorial Day Weekend at the CLCS NOTRA, Murphy was 3rd in the meet and completed his ORC!

The 7th at the SOMOS NOTRA in FL, Bosley ran undefeated for the meet win and earned 4 ORC points and 4 NORC points! Murphy ran 2nd and picked up 2 ORC and 2 NORC. Joker finished 4th out of 34 in his first attempt on the oval!

On this 1st Murphy, Bosley and Joker were once again in action at the SWAG WRA meets in NC. They all ran nicely and on Sunday Murphy and Bosley both earned WRCh points!

April

Murphy, Bosley and Joker all competed at the MARS WRA meets in GA. Murphy picked up WRCh points both days and finished his CRX-II. Both of his sons completed their CR's. All three boys performed very well!

January

01/16/05 At the CLCS ASFA trial, Murphy (in his first trial) placed 4th out of 13 in the Open stake. He earned 10 pts towards his Field Championship. Sabrina won the Veteran stake of 5, earning 20 pts towards her Veteran Field Championship.
